Design our new CCTV Van

‘Design our CCTV van’ competition launches for schools and youth groups in Beechwood, Noctorum and Woodchurch.

A new competition for school children to design artwork for a CCTV van is being launched in Wirral.

The new van, purchased by Wirral Council, will be deployed in crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) hotspots across the borough.

Primary and secondary pupils from Beechwood, Noctorum and Woodchurch are being invited to submit their designs around the theme ‘Keeping Our Communities Safe’.

These areas are being invited to get involved as they form the Wirral EVOLVE areas. Clear, Hold, Build (known in Merseyside as EVOLVE) is a home office initiative which targets serious and organised crime, with the overall aim of making these areas safer and more resilient.

The state-of-the-art CCTV van will be used for gathering evidence, deterring crime and anti-social behaviour and providing community reassurance.

Young people, years 5-11, can submit their design ideas in any style, as long as it is in colour and an A4 landscape format.

Prizes are on offer for the best designs, with the winning design being professionally adapted into a graphic for the CCTV van.

The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2024, and designs should be sent to engage@wirral.gov.uk. All prize winners will be notified via email and invited along to the unveiling of the van.

Any queries please email engage@wirral.gov.uk.
