Halloween is upon us and what better way to spend the half term can there be for getting into the spooky spirit than checking out some classic film and TV.
Streaming channels like Disney+ and Netflix have got a fantastic selection of spooky delights to indulge in but here is our top 10 what to stream this Halloween!
10. Frankenweenie
Kicking us off is the brilliant Frankenweenie directed by Tim Burton. Victor invites trouble when he revives his dead pet dog Sparky after it is hit by a car. Now, Sparky looks like a monster and terrifies Victor's neighbours. 9. The Witches (1990)
1990’s adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Witches maybe over 30 years old now but it is still a classic and as creepy today as ever. A young boy stumbles onto a group of witch's convention and tries to stop them, as they prepare to rid the world of all children, even after they turn him into a mouse.

8. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
This adaptation of the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" tale is a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror and the occult. In the reimagined origin story, Sabrina Spellman wrestles to reconcile her dual nature -- half-witch, half-mortal -- while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family -- including aunts Hilda and Zelda -- and the daylight world humans inhabit. Kiernan Shipka ("Mad Men") leads the cast in the titular role of the show that is based on a comic series of the same name.

7. Spirited Away
Taking a slightly different approach to the Halloween season Spirited Away is a Hayao Miyasazki masterpiece full of imagination.10-year-old Chihiro (Rumi Hiiragi) and her parents (Takashi Naitô, Yasuko Sawaguchi) stumble upon a seemingly abandoned amusement park. After her mother and father are turned into giant pigs, Chihiro meets the mysterious Haku (Miyu Irino), who explains that the park is a resort for supernatural beings who need a break from their time spent in the earthly realm, and that she must work there to free herself and her parents.

Edward Scissorhands is one of those classic films which works anytime of the year but it’s always a special one to watch around Halloween. Edward, a synthetic man with scissor hands, is taken in by Peg, a kindly Avon lady, after the passing of his inventor. Things take a turn for the worse when he is blamed for a crime he did not commit.

Monster House is one of those perfect family films that manages to be funny and a tad scary at times making it a perfect Halloween watch. Three teenagers discover that their neighbour's house is actually a monster that hates children. Soon, they decide to destroy the heart of the house and kill it.

2. Nightmare Before Christmas
Nightmare Before Christmas. Is it a Halloween film or a Christmas film. You’ll have to decide either way it’s a true classic of the season, packed with comedy, spookiness and basically the soundtrack for the season. Jack Skellington, a being from Halloween Town, finds Christmas Town and is instantly enchanted. The situation becomes riveting when his obsession with Christmas leads him to abduct Santa Claus.

Hocus Pocus
At number 1 is the classic halloween treat Hocus Pocus, it’s got everything, comedy, scary, halloween, taking black cats, broomsticks, witches and curses. Three witches resurrect after 300 years to exact revenge and begin a reign of terror after Max, a young boy who moves to Salem with his family, lights a cursed Candle of Black Flame.
